What books/authors have influenced you and why?

I have a ton of favorite authors and to a degree have been influenced by them all, but I would have to say if I had to drill it down to two specific people, it would be Stephen King and John Steinbeck.

Both have taught me the important lesson that words do indeed matter.

How do you develop your plot and characters?

It's a bit nebulous at first. I start with an idea or a premise. I wait until a character emerges and pay attention when he or she does. Then I listen to them and write what happens next.

What are your current/future projects?

I am working on a Comic Book adaption of the ancient Greek tragedy "Prometheus Bound"

I also have a webcomic that I write and draw called "The Portland Express" that is set in the 30's and done in black and white.

I also do a daily comic strip called "Central Zoo" that uses talking zoo animals to illustrate the insanity in our daily arguments.
