Character Interview with Logan Kase
What did you have for dinner?
Probably the best part about moving back home to Georgia after four years is my momma’s home cooking (especially since I can’t cook worth a damn). Fried chicken, collard greens, baked mac n’ cheese. And don’t even get me started on her homemade apple pie!
Are you married? In a serious relationship? Leaving your options open?
Not married…yet. But I am happily engaged to the love of my life, Dr. Jacob Abernathy, who I met in an emergency room when I took my sorority sister in for a sprained ankle. Between me moving back home and him working two hours away, things have been too crazy to set a date and start planning yet, but I’m sure we’ll get around to it as soon as things calm down.
What's your biggest secret? What's the biggest secret you've kept for others?
What happened the night before I left for school in Texas. Not even my best friend knows the details about what happened after the farewell bonfire, and the only person who does also knows that I’ll kick his ass if he ever tells a soul.
Who's your best friend? How did you meet? Memory that makes you laugh?
Carly Malcolm and I met in kindergarten. I rescued her baby doll from a mud puddle because she didn’t want to get her new sandals dirty. She’s been my best friend and partner in crime ever since. As for a memory that makes me laugh…I’d say that time we got stuck in bumper to bumper for an hour in Atlanta and she had to crawl in the back seat and pee in her empty coffee cup—which, according to her, is not as easy as it sounds.
What's your earliest memory? Good/Bad? What would you change?
I think I was maybe three or four when my dad took me fishing for the first time at Willow Creek Lake early one Saturday morning. He bought me this cute little Scooby-Doo fishing rod, and I remember sitting on that boat for hours trying so hard to be quiet, which in truth means I went maybe ten seconds at a time without talking. I was so bored I even fell asleep at some point and Daddy had to carry me back to the truck. I didn’t catch any fish that time, but I wouldn’t change a thing. It’s one of the best memories I have with my dad.
Do you have a bad habit? How long have you tried to break it...or not?
I was a bit of a mess growing up, and Momma calls me her wild girl for a reason. I used to run all over town doing stupid stuff like trespassing on Old Man Carithers’s property and trying to see who of my friends could hold their liquor the longest. But that all stopped when I met my fiancé, Jacob. He knows nothing about any of the crazy stuff the old Logan used to get into, and I plan on keeping it that way. Especially when it comes to my worst and hardest habit to kick, Cole Tucker.
